Going North no 3

Well November is here and hasn't it gone cold!!!! It's something I rarely complain of as I prefer the cooler weather but at teatime I was frozen ended up with the gas fire on and the heating. Poor hubby (he who usually complains of the cold, on a daily basis) was red in the face because of the heat! It took awhile but I eventually allowed him to turn the fire off and open the door! One good thing that will have come out of it is he will now know how I feel when he turns the heating up and up!!! Lol. The card I have for you tonight is an image you have seen before but on a larger card. Also its a Christmas card, lol.

Merry Christmas

Hi crafty friends hope things are going fine for you all. This week is our big shopping week - hate it cos its food and not stash, lol. So while I have some time I'll do another blog.

I have used -
an A5 White card
Which I have matted with red card from Millers DieCut and
White card from The Range.
I have used an inverted corner punch on all corners.
Gems from stash.
Merry Christmas stamp from stash.
The image is a Mo Manning digi stamp called "Ragged Santa"
Which I have coloured in with FM's.
Cut out with Xcut Fancy Rectangles and matted onto red card cut with larger die.
I have tried to colour them in in the same colours that are used on Mo's website
as I fell in love with the whole package = the images and the way they were coloured. This applies to
all the Christmas digi stamps I have bought from Mo's website.
Doing this has helped me with my colouring I find with the shading and blending.
I hope you will still like what I have done.

Green

Hello crafty friends what a miserable day we are having. I prefer the cooler weather as long as it isn't raining. I know a lot of you prefer the warmer weather so roll on the weekend when it goes up a degree or two! Today's card is for a special friend whose favourite colour is green. She has items dotted around her lounge in this particular green that I've used.

The card is mainly done with the green from Papermill Direct.
The cream card is from Millers Diecut.
The topper is a Saturated Canary digi stamp coloured with FM's and cut out with X-Cut Fancy Rectangle. (Mistakenly named as Spellbinders Label 29 on other cards....oooops!).
The topper is fixed onto a larger cut of the same die then fixed with foam pads onto the easel top. This easel top has been embossed and cut out from a Glitter Girl's Keepsake board.
The Special Friend stamp is from an Art Deco set free with a magazine and cut out with a Spellbinders tag die.
The butterfly is a Marianne design die.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid.
The pearls are from Chloe Design.
Peel offs from stash.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving  a comment.
I love reading them all and replying to each one.
Take care.

42 years!

Our 42nd Wedding Anniversary today! Where has the time gone?! Hope we have a lot more to come.
I'm rather pleased with the card I did for my hubby as I only started it late on Monday evening.

I used an 8 x 8 base card.
The image is one I used for friends anniversary last week. I'm sorry but I don't know whose the image is. I coloured it in my Flexmarkers and cut it out using Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle.
I wrapped the base card with red organza ribbon (stash) and tied in a bow. Then added the image to the card with double sided foam pads. Next I used a stamp from Claritystamps and added a flower from my stash.
That was the outside done now to put the verse I had found weeks ago and copy it onto the insert! Well could I find this verse could I heck!! I'd been saving it for this card and it was nowhere to be seen! Well to say I was upset is putting it mildly but hey ho onto the Internet I go and found another one I liked. So all turned out well in the end!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving comments.
It means a lot to me.

Bank Holiday Monday

Hi everyone, hope you have all enjoyed your Bank Holiday weekend. Weather's not been too bad here hope it was the same where you lived.
Card I have to show you is a commission card from the same customer as before but this time it's for her daughter's birthday.

This is done on an 8 x 8 scalloped card and the image is Fancy from Saturated Canary.
I coloured her in with Flexmarkers, I love these markers I think they are brilliant!
I cut her out with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Nine and matted her onto some green pearlescent card which I cut out with the same die.
I used a Marianne Design Rose die for the border which was cut out of green pearlescent card.
Other Marianne Design dies I used are the butterflies, the small swirls and the leaf flourish!
I used Spellbinders Delicate Aster for the orange flowers and the other flowers I used were out of my stash. Used some peel offs and the jobs finished.
Thank you for visiting. It means a lot to have your comments on my cards it assures me that I'm going in the right direction.

Thank you very much

Nicki's Card

This is a card I have done for a lovely young lady that I am delighted to class as a friend.
So I hope you like it!
This image is from Saturated Canary and is called Fancy. I coloured her with Flexmarkers and then cut her out by using a die from Spellbinders Labels 29. Next I made the base card for the easel with card stock from my stash.
Next I used Glitter Girls Keepsake board called Radiance and embossed and cut out two pieces in different coloured card. I also embossed and cut out two extra pieces of the edging on this design and used them as the stopper.
I embellished with paper flowers from my stash and coloured them in using the same colour of Flexmarker as her dress.  I also used pearls which are from Chloe's Designs. Then finally I used peel offs and ribbon to finish it off.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by
Any comments are truly appreciated whether good or bad.

Happy Anniversary

Hi everyone! A little late in the day or should that be night, lol. If I don't do it now I might not get round to it, so here we go.
This is an Anniversary card for some dear friends of mine. I wanted something simple and elegant, I hope I've achieved that.

I used velvet card as the A5 base card. On top of this I used Glitter Girls Keepsake Celebration board to emboss a panel that would emulate the shape of the Spellbinder die I used for the topper. This die is the Resplendent Rectangles. The rose stamp I'm afraid I can't remember whose it is. If anyone should know whose it is could you please let me know, thank you. I used Flexmarkers to colour the image. Peel offs were used for the sentiment and my friends names. The Special Friend stamp is an Art Deco stamp that was free with numerous others in a magazine. The pearls are once again from Chloe's Design.

I hope you like this and thank you for visiting. It's truly very much appreciated.

Well here I am again! I finished a commission card this afternoon and its for a man! Now who hates doing male cards? Sometimes they just seem to be easy and other times you can't think of anything to do! That's was me a couple of days ago nothing came to mind so I thought have a play! So out came the few masks and the few Distress Inks that I own and this is what I came up with!
I started off with a white piece of 8 x8 cardstock. Then I through the masks I have and decided which would suit a male card! I picked out 4 all of them from Splodgeaway!!
1st I used the tread like one with DI Tumbled Glass
2nd I then used the animal print with DI Scattered Straw
3rd I used a Chicken wire with DI Budled Sage
4th I used the clock one with DI Tea Dye
I wasn't sure if this was going to work although I have these masks I've never used them before! So I decided to us the Owl. Now I've seen him used and he looked magnificent! I was just praying that this would turn out if only marginally like the ones I'd seen it would be ok!

So out with the Owl and i used him with DI Brushed Corduroy. Then I cut him out with a xCut oval die and then edged it with a brown Promarker. After this I distressed the edges slightly with the DI Brushed Corduroy.

So all that needed to be done was fix it all together. So I matted the background onto a piece of brown card stock then I wrapped a length of jute ribbon around both the background and the brown card and fixed it at an angle. So next came the little fellow, he's so darn cute, and I fixed him in the middle of the card with double sided foam pads! All that needed to be done was fix it onto an 8 x 8 scalloped card. I had my card for a male done except the Happy Birthday and the name of the recipient. I don't know if you've noticed but I do like to put their name on the card.
Using Clarity boxed alphabet I stamped the greeting and the name in DI brushed corduroy cand fixed them onto the card with foam pads. Just an insert inside with a cheeky greeting and all was done.

I hope I haven't been too long winded about this ( I have haven't I) and you have enjoyed your visit here. So Thankyou for visiting its very much appreciated.

I did them in the same style as they are all close! The images are from Linnie Pink and coloured in using flexmarkers. The cards were made from the Glitter Girls Bookatrix board. The roses are Britannia dies. The stands are Joy craft dies and the images are on Spellbinders Gold Labels Four. I think that's it lol.

Hi Everyone

Well here I am on a blog! My blog! I've been told I must do one so I can share all my cards in one place. It seems funny trying to talk to people when you don't even know if anyone will read it!
I did two workshops this last week the first at Rae Dalal's last saturday and the second at Eileen Godwin's in Coventry on Tuesday. Both workshops I shared with lovely ladies and will definitely be going again!
This is the clock we did with the lovely Rae Dalal. I have it propped up on my craft desk so I can definitely keep an eye on the time!
This is the first of the cards we did with the lovely Eileen Godwin. Love it! Apologies to Eileen for not having finished the other creations as for some reason its been a busy week so far, lol

This is a card I did for my grandson! He was offered the post of apprentice swimming instructor at a very large and well known school in a town near us. Has he as lived in water since he was a baby and it is his life we are keeping everything crossed for when the 12 months apprenticeship is up and hopefully he gets a full time job! This was his first week and they have already had him on a course to further his career. He also has diving as one of the things he does, you know like the Olympics last year, well he's done it from the highest board! Eeeek! Just like they do!!

Well that's it for now I don't know when I'll be on here again as it usually takes a few days for me to do one card! Hope you have enjoyed looking at my blog and as time goes on maybe I willget better at it.

Thanks for stopping by
